Beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, HBCU Early College Prep (HBCU ECP) will be a new accelerated district high school option available to students throughout Queens, and New York City. In a groundbreaking partnership with Delaware State University (DSU), NYCPS will pioneer the nation’s first HBCU Early College high school located in a major metropolitan city. HBCU ECP is a unique educational opportunity for students, enabling them to earn an associate’s degree in addition to their diploma by the end of their fourth year of high school at no cost.
This is school welcomes ALL Students of different races and backgrounds to apply.
This innovative model aligns with Mayor Adams and Chancellor Banks’ vision to expand high-quality educational options and sets a new national standard for early college education in urban settings. Students enrolled in HBCU Early College Prep are guaranteed admission to Delaware State University after obtaining an A.A. degree and can choose from four career pathways: Business, Psychology, Liberal Arts, or Social Work.
